It has been about 2 months plus since I last blogged. December 2012 was an eventful month, with the Christmasy feel all around. Office operates on a half-day system for about 2 weeks plus. I had various gift exchanges with different groups of friends. Received lots of Hello Kitty stuff these year, all from my office peeps. 2012 saw my transition from being an undergraduate to a full-fledged working adult. Its a different kind of feeling and experience altogether.

January 2013 marks the beginning of a year. I am into my second full-time job after quitting RE. Although it may seems all relax and slack in this new office, the people-people relationships, gossips are just terrible. Its a different ball game altogether. Back in RE, stress comes from our target to be met during work. We work hard, we play hard, we make friends. Here, its made up of all kinds of people from various walks of life, coupled with the messy relationships, it just gets tiring sometimes. Stress don't comes from the work here, instead its the people-people relationships. All these made the place a very tense environment to work in..

Yesterday, I met up with Xuan and XZ for some catching up and food after work. Went to Ion Sephora to stock up on my cosmetics as there is a 20% storewide sale for members. First time I saw such long queue in the store haha! Then, we head to Pique Nique at Taka for some food!

Three of us with our food! Surpringly the food's pretty big portion. Yummy too!

Close-up shots of the food we ordered. Think I was too hungry that I forgot to take a pic of my food! LOL!

A shot of the pretty scorpio plaits my colleague tied for me! Love it! :)

On some lazy saturday afternoon, I went with my family to this bar near Clark Quay for all-day breakfast.

I have always like breakfast. But their eggs benedict was disappointing as the eggs were not served warmly. The pancakes were good though. Simple and nice.

This bar has a nice and neat wine counter, with cosy sofa corners for chilling out. Nice ambience for chilling out.

Other day, mummy brought us to Peach Garden at Thomson Plaza for dim sum buffet. The location's quite inconvenient, but seems like its a pretty popular chinese restaurant for families. Good selection of dim sum items in a authentically decorated chinese restaurant. Reasonably priced, which is made better with the UOB card promotion.
Look at the spread of food on our table!

Another day, my family went to this newly opened thai restaurant at TM. I have always seen long queues forming in front of the restaurant and have not gotten a chance to try till now.

We ordered pandan chicken, sweet and sour fish, sweet and sour tofu and fried tong fen. The pandan's chicken's good. The rest were just normal. Or maybe because we dont quite appreciate thai food haha!

This restaurant has received many awards, compliments and had done many magazine interviews before, which explains their queues I guess. Reasonably priced food without service charge is another plus factor.

So this is where I have been for the past weekends. A short update on work. Work has been pretty relaxed since I joined the law firm a month ago. A stark contrast from RE.

I shall be back with more updates soon!

We have graduated! After so many years of education, we have finally graduated! Seeing my parents' happy faces on my graduation day and that exhilarated feeling of mine, I believe words cant aptly describe. Graduation ceremony was held in SIM on 24 August 2012, 2pm. The process of people helping us with the robes, waiting to go on stage, receiving the certification from the Dean, it was nothing short of a surreal feeling which ended with a buffet reception and photo-taking session thereafter.

Following on, I shall let the pictures do the talking.

Just wore the robes and awaiting for the ceremony to begin, with Pei Zhen!

While waiting for the ceremony, with Julie!

Three of us! Really grateful to them for making my uni studies an enjoyable journey cos we practically do everything together! From train-ing to school to lunch to projects, cant imagine life in school without them.

The ceremony was a simple but memorable affair. It is a milestone in my education journey and will remain to be in the years to come. I am grateful for the two gfs I have known throughout my years of uni studies cos they never fail to make my day. The days where we train-ed together, lunch-ed together, attended or slacked in lectures together, rush-ed for projects submission together, shopping sessions after school together, I will never forget. We practically see one another more than 12hours every single day. It was during these times that strong friendship was forged which I believe will stay on for the years to come.

Other day, we went to Marina Barrage for another round of photo-taking.

Classic shot with Marina Barrage in the background.

This is my fave picture! Us laying on the green grass! Classic but nice shot!

A vertical shot for a change..

Trying to act cute.. cos we are only young and grad once..Haha!

Whee! We are flying! This is one of the most successful 'jump' shots after many tries. We realised it was really hard to do 'jump' shots. LOL!

All these photos serve to remind us of our student lives and will definitely bring back sweet memories for us. Graduation actually means a closure of a chapter in your student life, that's why it was a myraid of mixed feelings for me. It forces you to step out of your comfort student life, to enter the work force and to join in the rat race..

June is drawing to a close. Work has been hectic, tough and full of challenges everyday. I reached home exhuasted, drained daily but am still trying to make the best out of it.

Work-aside, I do have my fair share of relaxation, abit lesser than schooling days.

I bought my first Chanel! Whee! Pretty, simple, classic double C pendant in a dainty white box with their signature Camelia flower. Though common, but I still love it.

We had this meal at MOF at Tampines One to celebrate bro's birthday and Father's day. Dad's treat hehe! The food was good, better than expected. At least the salmon's tender. Sushi-wise, I thought Sushi Tei is still a notch higher.

This meal was my belated birthday meal with my sec school girlies. It was at this Japanese restaurant at NTUC Income Building opposite Tampines Stadium. I cant exactly remember the name of this place though. The food is great, despite a tad expensive. Sashimi is freshly sliced. The ambience and cosy environment adds a nice touch to this place, which makes it great for catch-up or just a simple chat.

This was a birthday treat from CY. It was at one of the Japanese restaurants at NEX. We thought we will try something new as this restaurant's selling point is in their wheat-made, healthy soba noodles. Though healthy, I find it a tad too bland for my liking. But, thank you so much for this thought and I definitely had a great time catching up with you!

Pressies I received  from all my girlies! You all definitely made my day and add a sweet finishing touch to my birthday.

Just a picture of us after our exam to end off this post. "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun", I missed school life just as much as I missed all those random shopping and eating trips after lessons, all those times we spent rushing projects and deadlines together.

It has been 2 weeks into my job now. Am still not quite used to the really fast pace of things, noisy environment, inadequate resources etc. But I defintely do feel a sense of satisfaction when I close my case and place people into jobs. It wasnt as easy as I thought because I am dealing with people from all walks of lives, with different backgrounds, education levels etc.

It is a challenging job and I can't say for sure how long I can sustain the competitive part of me. But hey, every job has its challenges, no? I am still pretty much in the learning stage now and I guess only time will tell the results.

My papers officially ended yesterday (ie. 9 May 2012), which means I have unofficially graduated. Not that much excitement which I have expected. Perhaps coming to terms with the end of my uni life has not quite sink in. No more lectures, projects and memorizing. But this also marks the end of our "carefree days" whereby we could just relax with a drink in a cafe on lazy days after school or simply indulge in some retail  and food therapy.

When school's out, work inevitably comes in. And what lies ahead seems to be filled with uncertainty.. I guess that explains the mixed feelings.

Arent extremely excited about graduation either. People would normally feel excited and elated when they have graudated because of the sweat, hardwork and endless late nights for projects and exams they have put in. Perhaps BBM is just one of the run-of-the-mill degrees which I found little motivation nor satisfaction from it.

Anyhow, after exams activity always consist of shopping with the girls, and this time is no exception. Coupled with more retail therapy with mummy and sis, its no doubt a tiring day for me!
